We're currently conducting systematic tests with the release version of macOS 11 (Big Sur) in order to offer full compatibility of our products as soon as possible. You can find our latest compatibility status - here
Please note that although announced at the same time as macOS Big Sur, Apple Silicon processors are an independent release with separate compatibility concerns for NI products. Compatibility with macOS Big Sur will not yet ensure compatibility with Apple Silicon processors. At the moment, Native Instruments products are not supported on computers with Apple Silicon processors. Read more - here

Open the software and go to Help About (product name). The following screen will show a computer ID/machine ID. For some older programs it will begin with a 0,1,2, or 3 and be 9. | How do you delete activations in presonus account and start over ? I tried the 'remove' button in my account and one of my activations went away. But, now it's back. I just installed an SSD and am having an issue getting S13 activated. |
| Tell me your username @presonus. I'll have a look on it. | Ok, and what is your issue? You have activated 3 of 5. so.... go on! | Ok, I use a Mac and a PC. So, I have S13 on both. That's 2 activations. But, there are 3 listed. I just installed a new OS SSD on the PC (via clone/image). Every other piece of software I have works fine. Only Presonus requires re-activation. Well, no. IK also. Anyway, I wanted to remove the 2 PC activations and start over. As I said, I tried it once and removed 1 but now it's back. Thanks |
fwiw, S13 runs when connected to internet. But not offline. I had registered using offline method. Then today re-activated connected to web. then pull out my network dongle and now no more S13. Not sure if that's necessary info for you or not. The whole activation thing is really not right and overly complicated.
Ok, that didn't last too long with Ari. In my account, there is a section called 'manage activations' that appears to give me the opportunity to remove/delete activations. Since this is available, I assume that the user (me in this case) can delete/remove activations. Is this true?? Sorry if I'm a dim bulb here, I just don't get the 'limited to 5' activations. What is the point, cause it's not really 5, if you can remove them. Why do they even have a limit. But then, I removed one and it came back. If there was no limit and/or I know I could delete/remove them then I could figure it out on my own using as many activations as it takes. I'm just concerned about going over the hypothetical '5'..
Manage activations is what you think it is. Matt Lenovo ThinkServer TS140 Win 10 64bit, 8GB RAM, Intel Xeon Lenovo Thinkpad E520, Windows 7 64bit, 8 GB RAM, Intel i5 Processor S1Pro V4
Thanks Matt.
So, I go to start S13 today and once again it says it is not activated for the computer. This is really getting absurd. The only thing different I can think of is that my network dongle was plugged in. (I had activated offline.) Help..
My guess would be that Studio One is using the network dongle to create the unique machine ID used to verify the activation. When it is attached it creates one machine ID and when it is disconnected it creates another, different ID. So if you activate with the network attached it activates for that machine ID but if you then disconnect it recalculates the machine ID and now sees the activation as invalid requiring a new activation based on the second machine ID (without the dongle). If you now reconnect the dongle the second activation becomes invalid as it is back to the original machine ID. And so on.
If this is the case then I would do this: Disconnect the dongle, open Studio One and make a note of the machine ID for an offline activation. Connect the dongle, go to your account and generate an offline activation file using that ID. Disconnect the dongle and activate offline. Once activated make sure that you always disconnect the dongle before running Studio One (and keep the offline activation file handy for when you forget and Studio One gets deactivated).
Thanks for the response Steve. Appreciate it. However, that's really not a solution for me. Why should S1 dictate whether or not I can use the internet? I've already wasted countless hours trying to get this thing working right. Then I get some where with it, then something else pops up to stop my productivity. Leading me back here wasting more time. However, it is a pleasure to speak with you:)
